Melissani Cave: Near Karavomilo is Melissani Cave, a steep cave known for its beauty. The cave, which is about 4 kilometers long, was formed due to water eroding soft rocks for centuries. Inside the cave is the equally famous Lake Melissani, an underground water body discovered in 1951. The cave is dedicated to Peri Melissani, who gave the cave its name in ancient times. You can descend into the cave through a tunnel and then go out to the lake and boat through the turquoise waters.
