Istanbul is a bustling metropolis filled with crowds, urban pressures, blaring horns, work-related stress, and the challenges of daily life. However, it's also a city blessed with a blend of historical treasures and natural wonders. When summer arrives, schools close, vacationers scatter, and the air becomes easier to breathe. So, what can city dwellers do while staying put? On weekends, they can head to the nearby beaches to revel in the sea, sand, and sunshine, much like they would on the southern or Aegean coasts. Let's explore the most exquisite beaches in proximity to Istanbul and let our hearts be uplifted.

Alacalı Beach, Şile

The Şile coastline is one of the first destinations that springs to mind when thinking about Istanbul and its shores. Within this enchanting district, where Istanbulites can take a dip and rejuvenate, lie numerous beaches. Among them is Alacalı Beach. Nestled amidst small, verdant hills, this beach is open to the public and lacks any amenities. Given the absence of conveniences like sun loungers, changing rooms, umbrellas, refreshments, showers, and restrooms, it's advisable to exercise caution when visiting Alacalı Beach. Alternatively, you can bring your own supplies and enjoy a beachside barbecue.
