When it comes to the magical city of Rome, there are many historical and cultural buildings that you see. From the majestic Vatican to the Spanish steps, from the Fountain of Love, which is the subject of movies, to Navona Square, there are many tourist attractions to visit and be impressed with. Besides, you can do many activities such as exploring the crazy city of Rome with scooters or tasting in vineyards. Now, let’s take a look at the activities that you should not come back to without doing in Rome.

Start the Day Like an Italian: Never Without Coffee
“Shall we have a coffee?” You can hear this phrase all over Rome. In Italian culture, drinking coffee is so traditional that it is almost considered a sin to start the day without coffee. Whether it’s the first thing to do in the morning, before or after lunch, in the afternoon, or before dinner, drinking coffee is a must for Italians every day and at any time of the day. While you’re in Rome, try starting your day with a coffee and a croissant.

Never Go Back Without Seeing: Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel
Going all the way to Rome and coming back without visiting the holy Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel, which shed light on history, can obviously be counted as not having been in Rome at all. Therefore, visiting these points in Rome is one of the things you should do before you get tired. Counted as an independent state, Vatican City is known as the smallest country in the world. The Vatican Palace under the Vatican, administered by the Pope, and the Sistine Chapel, where the famous artist Michelangelo signed the ceiling figures, are among the most valuable places to see. While you’re at it, make sure to visit the Vatican.

Romance at its Best: Fountain of Love and Spanish Steps
With more than 280 fountains and more than 900 churches, Rome has always been a city that makes its guests extremely happy. But the Fountain of Love is undeniably the city’s most famous and romantic spot. Based on the legend, when you go, turn your back to the fountain, toss a coin, make a wish and you’re guaranteed to come back to Rome again. Don’t forget to watch this place and sip a glass of wine from the rooftop bars of the cafes near the Fountain of Love. Also, do not miss to see the 138-step Spanish Steps at the bottom of the Trinita Dei Monti Church. Also, keep in mind that sitting on stairs built in the 1700s is prohibited in 2020.

Delicious Italian: Take a Rome Food Tour
If you want to get a glimpse of the real Rome, be sure to stop by Trastevere, recommended by experts and travelers, to the south of Vatican City. Considered a bit far from the center for those who do not like walking, Trastevere has a more authentic and calmer structure than the center with its cobblestone streets, narrow roads, and numerous restaurants. You can discover this spot for yourself, or by purchasing tours from local tour companies that focus on Roman cuisine and dominate the region, you can both smell the unique Roman atmosphere and experience Roman food.

Places Where History Breathes: Colesseum (Colosseum) and Pantheon
The Colesseum, which creates excitement with its secret underground tunnels, where you can feel the spirits of gladiators, is one of the most important structures you should see when you come to the romantic city. This point, which was completed in 80 AD, has successfully written its name on the pages of history as a point where the Roman people enjoyed the gladiator wars. Additionally, the Pantheon, which is the first domed structure of Rome in terms of architecture, is one of the important historical points to be seen. The tomb of the world-famous architect and painter Raphael (Raffaello Sanzio) is located in the Pantheon Temple, which is known as one of the best-preserved structures of its period in the world.

Beauties of Squares: Navona Square and Popolo Square
One of Rome’s most beautiful squares to explore on foot, Navona features notable fountains and stylish cafes. After visiting the city, a coffee or a glass of wine in this square will take all your tiredness away. Popolo Square, which also means ‘People’s Square,’ is known as one of the largest and most beautiful squares in Europe. Porta del Popolo Gate in the northern part of the square and the obelisk in the middle of the square are among the remarkable architectures.

Rome in a Breath: Rome Bus Tours or Scooter Tours
It is best to explore the city on foot, but not everyone likes walking. That’s why you can visit Rome in one breath with City Bus Tours. You can also enjoy the city with scooters identified with Italians. Let’s not forget that a scooter rental company can provide this service with or without a driver upon request.
