10 Tips before visiting Universal Studios Hollywood

As one of the most touristic spots in Los Angeles, Universal Studios is a dynamic vacation spot since 1964. A heads up if you are planning for summer; you have selected the hottest and most crowded time of the year, but summers are a different kind of beautiful in Universal Studios. Universal Studios might be a gigantic theme park, but you can also finish it in one day; so, we suggest planning ahead and smart.

Let’s start with our first recommendation...

1- There are a couple of ticket options. If you pick the Express Pass, you will have the chance to skip the line once in every attraction. If the Express Pass is not over your budget, we suggest pre-purchasing the Express Pass option.

2- Overall entrance tickets for one day starts at $109. Express Passes to skip the lines start at $169. However, it is always better to check the current prices.

3- You should be there as early as you can. Considering that the park opens at 10 in the morning, we suggest being there latest by 9.30. The line at the door might tire you even before you go in, but the earlier you enter the park the better.

4- There are poll takers at the main gate; if you participate in one of these polls, they will give you an express pass valid for one ride. So, if you see one of these poll takers, you can spend some time for these polls while you are waiting in line.

5- We need to mention that the parking lot is extremely expensive ($25 per hour). There are free-of-charge bus services right across the park. Considering that you will spend the day at the Universal Studios, learning about the bus routes and taking a bus to the park might be better.

6- Downloading the Universal Studios application (Universal Hollywood™ App) on your phone will definitely be the smartest move. The application includes everything you need to know about Universal Studios. You can purchase tickets, see the approximate waiting period for the attractions and rides, access the online map to plan your day and learn about upcoming events.

7- The theme park has two sections: Upper Lot and Lower Lot. Worthy of the name, Upper Lot is built on the hill. Studio entrance is also there. First attraction to see in the Upper Lot is without a doubt Harry Potter & The Forbidden Journey. We suggest taking the speed train first. Since the speed trains often have the longest lines, picking the speed trains first will save you a lot of time.

8- Lower Lot is more famous for its shows. We suggest checking the times of Special Effects and WaterWorld shows and catching them. You will feel like you are living in a movie during the effect shows with plenty of bangs.

9- You must have your water with you because you will need to spend a lot of time under the sun, meaning that you will need water. You can refill your bottle from the taps as many times as you want, but you will need to wait in line if you want to buy bottled water.

10- There are many food options at Universal Studios. Since all restaurants and cafes are built with a certain concept, you will feel like you are a part of the environment. Even though the prices are higher than average, the experience will be worth it. Our favorites are Simpsons Land and Three Broomsticks.

Universal Studios is the ultimate destination for many movie fans, but we suggest checking the contents and places every year because they change quickly.
