There are many places to visit and see in India, which is the second most populated country in the world and one of the oldest civilizations. If you are going to spend just one day in this city that turns heads with its crazy crowd and heavy traffic, you have to limit the number of places you will visit.

We recommend you to visit Qutub Minar first thing in the morning, which was built in the 13th century and is considered one of the masterpieces of Indo-Islamic architecture. With a height of 72.5 meters, the Qutub Minar, which was the tallest structure in India until the Taj Mahal was built in the 14th century, is an impressive historical monument spanning a very large area. We recommend you to see this monument, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1993, and other monuments around it.

From here, you will have to take a three-wheeled vehicle called Riksha and travel 16 kilometers towards the Old Delhi area. This journey, which has become a breathtaking tourist activity in the incredible traffic of the city, is one of the indispensable experiences of Delhi.

You can fully feel the energy of India in this chaotic region, which is the old center of the city founded in the 17th century. In this area, you can visit historical buildings such as the Red Fort and Friday Mosque, as well as local markets such as Chandni Chowk. Let us state that the most visited historical structure of this crowded city, where conversations are mixed with the sound of horns and visitors are hypnotized by this crazy energy, is the Friday Mosque. This mosque, which was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century, is one of the most magnificent mosques in India.

This building, one of the largest mosques in the world, is considered one of the most important examples of Indian Islamic culture. After visiting the mosque, you can go to the iconic gate known as the Indian Gate and take a selfie, which can be the symbol of your trip. You should definitely see the National Museum of Modern Art, which is located just ahead of the door and is often overlooked by travelers. This museum, which houses examples of modern Indian art, is the largest museum in India. It is possible to see many articles from prehistoric times to modern works of art here. After seeing the National Museum, it was time for lunch. We will suggest a little-known place for you, where locals usually go and where you can dine with peace of mind. Be sure to give Andhra Pradesh Bhavan Canteen a chance, inside a public building block. This restaurant, where you can taste traditional delicacies such as chicken biryani or tali, offers a very authentic experience. While you are here, you should not leave Delhi without exploring the Indian cuisine, which is different from Turkish culture and food. Your next stop after dinner can be the big park called Lodhi Garden. This large park, which also includes historical buildings, is one of the meeting points of the local people. Showcasing all the botanical richness of New Delhi, this park has an impressive street exhibit just ahead. This exhibition, which you can easily find when you search for “Lodhi Garden Street Art” on the map, was prepared by young artists a few years ago. From here, you can head to the district known as Shahpur Jat to spend the evening. There are many concept cafes and souvenir shops in the area, which is the favorite district of the Y generation in the city. Hauz Khas Village, the center of nightlife, is also close to this area. The region, where historical ruins are intertwined with restaurants and bars, is ideal for those who want to have fun. Another place we can recommend for dinner is Pirates of Grill, which offers traditional Indian dishes as well as country-specific grill options. We recommend that you do not return without tasting the special menus offered to you. If you want to stay overnight in the city, you can stay in one of the neighborhoods near the metro network. If you are looking for something more comfortable, you can also choose the hotels in the city center.
